Lahert's Cakes made a wonderfully moist earl grey sponge, and the flavour was even accented in the icing. The bright yellow icing contrasted superbly with the fresh white daisies and they arrived in a beautiful box with matching ribbon.

Our range of cake flavours is only limited by our combined imaginations! Of course, there are the classic favourites like Very Vanilla, Lovely Lemon, Chocolate Fudge, and so on but you may fancy carrot cake, red velvet or something a bit different and of course, Lahert's Cakes are happy to mix it up! We have a treasure trove of yummy recipes so tell us your favourite flavours and we will make the cake to match. And to ensure that you have the perfect combination for your wedding or big celebration, please contact us for a personal consulation and tasting session.

All of our cakes are baked to order from scratch and we do not use any pre-mixes, hydrogenated (trans) fats, preservatives or other nasties in our sponges. Our fruit cakes do keep for longer thanks to the addition of a wee dram or two, and this helps them to stay lovely and moist too. Fondant (sugarpaste) icing and marzipan are not made by Lahert's Cakes (we know our limitations!!), but all other cake coverings are hand made to the same quality criteria as our cakes: good quality ingredients which we let speak for themselves. We do use colourings but these are concentrated and therefore a little goes a long way.

Prices of cakes will vary according to size, flavour and decoration so we do not have a definitive price list. However, the prices below are a guide to starting prices for standard cake types. The design and decoration will then increase these prices accordingly.

8" round vanilla sponge, sugarpaste covering with basic decoration	£35.00
8" round fruit cake, sugarpaste covering with basic decoration	£45.00
Cupcakes with buttercream decoration (minimum order of 12)	£1.50 each
Premium Cupcakes with buttercream decoration (minimum order of 12)	£1.75 each

Cakes are available for collection from our premises near Reading in Berkshire or can be delivered. Lahert's Cakes will personally deliver your cake within a 20 mile radius of our kitchen, or a courier (fragile service) can be used for a bit further afield. Some cakes may not be suitable for the courier service but we can advise you if this is the case. Delivery charges are in addition to the prices listed above but will be clearly itemised on our quotation.

Wedding cakes quotations will include personal delivery and set up in the venue on the morning of the wedding - we want to ensure that everything looks perfect for your big day and that you don't have to worry about a thing.
